About this role
Responsibilities
• Incoming inspection leadership: Supervise and manage inspection of nuclear valve materials and components.
• Customer coordination: Liaise with customer representatives during inspections and audits.
• ITP preparation: Develop, review, and finalize inspection test plans in line with nuclear standards.
• Documentation readiness: Ensure all inspection records, certificates, and reports are complete and available for customer review.
• Nuclear specification study: Interpret and apply nuclear-specific standards and customer requirements.
• Kick-off meeting participation: Represent the quality function in project initiation meetings to align inspection and compliance strategies.
• Supplier readiness: Work with suppliers to ensure they meet nuclear quality requirements before material dispatch.
• Advanced NDT: Perform and review NDT Level II activities (RT, UT, MT, PT) with advanced RT film interpretation.
• ISO 19443 compliance: Lead internal audits, support certification, and ensure adherence to nuclear quality management systems.
• Team mentoring: Guide and train junior engineers and inspectors in nuclear valve quality practices.
• Continuous improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance inspection efficiency, defect detection, and compliance.
Authorities
• Inspection approval: Final authority to accept/reject incoming materials.
• NCR management: Issue NCRs, approve corrective actions, and monitor closure.
• Audit authority: Lead ISO 19443 internal audits and supplier audits.
• Supplier development: Approve supplier qualification and corrective action plans.
• Customer interface: Authority to represent the organization in customer inspections and meetings.
• Process improvement: Authority to implement inspection process changes and quality improvements.
Experience Requirements
• 8–10 years of experience in quality control, specifically in nuclear valve or nuclear component industries. BE. Mechanical /Metallurgy
• Strong expertise in NDT Level II with proven RT film interpretation skills.
• Hands-on knowledge of foundry processes and nuclear-specific standards.
• Experience in preparing and executing ITPs and material inspection plans.
• Exposure to ISO 19443 audits; internal auditor qualification is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and manage supplier quality.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and customer coordination skills.
