Job Summary: The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic junior-level financial professional, who will help Candi to lead the revolution of solar. Given that Candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and a new way of thinking.
Specifically, the job requires taking ownership for the South African team and will be responsible for supporting the Country Finance Lead with the following:
• Financial and management reporting
• Coordinating the supporting documentation for payments and loading of bank payments
• Loading bills and invoices onto Xero
• Monthly invoicing
• Coordinating project accounting with the Engineering and Asset Management divisions
• Management and collection of accounts receivable
• Weekly and monthly reconciliation on major accounts
• Inventory management
• Month-end & Year end close
• Balance sheet reconciliations and reporting on budget vs actual
• Supporting in budgeting, forecasting and cash management
• Taxation and VAT submission
• Updating company secretarial and statutory documents
• Liaising with auditors and supporting the business areas with financial information as required.
• Other ad hoc tasks as required.
Location: Fourways, Johannesburg, combined with working from home.
Hours: Full time. 12-month contract.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Financial Accounting and a BCom degree in Accounting
• Bonus: Worked on Xero
• Strong technical, financial and management accounting skills
• Advance knowledge in Microsoft Excel and use of AI
• Good communication and reporting skills - must have the ability to communicate and interact with a team of people through reporting cycles and change processes
• Good project management and attention to detail.
• Being a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit is paramount
