Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will:
Deliver face-to-face and telephone consultations.Provide high-quality, patient-centred care across the full spectrum of General Practice.Undertake home visits when clinically appropriate.Process workflow and clinical correspondence efficiently.Review and authorise prescriptions and medication queries.Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues.Contribute to quality improvement and clinical governance activities.Support achievement of QOF and other quality standards.Participate in practice meetings, education sessions and service development initiatives.Maintain accurate, high-quality clinical records.

Hanham Health is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking clinical team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. We are offering 4-6 sessions for this 12-month fixed term contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, innovative training practice serving approximately 28,000 patients across four sites in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care whilst supporting staff wellbeing, professional development and flexible working.
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive General Medical Services to our patient population and work collaboratively within our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective and responsive primary care services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct face-to-face and telephone consultations.Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.Provide high-quality, patient-centred care in accordance with current best practice.Undertake home visits when clinically appropriate.Review and action clinical correspondence and laboratory results.Prescribe safely and effectively in line with local and national guidance.Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient records using EMIS Web.Participate in safeguarding, clinical governance and quality improvement activities.Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, physiotherapists and other members of the multidisciplinary team.Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) targets and wider practice objectives.Attend practice meetings, educational events and protected learning sessions.Support the teaching and training ethos of the practice where appropriate.About Hanham Health

Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of NHS General Practice and current primary care issues. Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults. Knowledge of GMC Good Medical Practice standards. Understanding of clinical governance, appraisal and revalidation requirements. Understanding of infection prevention and control principles. Understanding of information governance and confidentiality requirements. Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusion principles within healthcare.
Desirable
Knowledge of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF). Knowledge of Primary Care Networks and integrated care working. Knowledge of population health and preventative care approaches.
Qualifications Essential
MBBS, MBChB or equivalent recognised medical qualification. Full GMC registration with licence to practise. Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List (or eligible for inclusion prior to commencement). Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice, CEGPR, or equivalent qualification recognised for UK General Practice. Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Desirable
MRCGP. Postgraduate qualification relevant to Primary Care. Additional qualifications or accreditation in a specialist clinical area. Educational, leadership or management qualifications. Evidence of teaching, training or mentoring experience.

Experience of working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Experience of maintaining accurate and contemporaneous clinical records. Experience of using electronic patient record systems. Experience of managing clinical workload effectively and safely. Understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and risk management. Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
