Location : Las Vegas, NV or Denver, CO Duration : 12 weeks About the Role The Mining Engineering Intern will partner closely with the Mine Planning and Operations teams to support engineering projects for our Nevada Projects portfolio. This is a project-based internship. Rather than generalized administrative tasks, you will be assigned a core technical project to own from start to finish. This role offers hands-on experience, culminating in an end-of-program presentation to technical leadership. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of a dedicated 12-week project, managing timelines, and delivering a final technical report and presentation. Learn to review and develop mine engineering deliverables, including short-range or long-range mine plans, scheduling, and drill & blast designs. Assist the team in technical trade-off studies, haulage optimizations, or equipment sizing evaluations to support operational efficiency. Support the design, execution, and data analysis of mine production tracking and continuous improvement programs alongside the engineering team. Qualifications & Requirements Currently enrolled as a rising senior in an Undergraduate program or final-year Master's or PhD student pursuing a degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline. Foundational understanding of open-pit or underground mining methods, mine planning principles, and earthmoving equipment operations. Familiarity with or strong interest in mine planning software platforms (e.g., Vulcan, Deswik, Hexagon) is a plus. Strong technical writing, reporting, and presentation skills. Ability to analyze datasets, draw logical conclusions, and present findings clearly. A collaborative mindset with an eagerness to learn and proactively ask questions. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Valid driver’s license required; willingness to travel to project sites if necessary. November 16 – 20, 2026 (Offers Extended): Final hiring decisions and official offer letters will be extended before the winter university break. Compensation : Las Vegas, Nevada: Market Related Denver, Colorado: $27/hour for Undergraduate interns; $35/hour for Graduate interns.
