Learn more about our Vision, purpose, values - AngloGold Ashanti POSITION Refrigeration Technician DEPARTMENT Engineering LOCATION Iduapriem Gold Mine Ghana EMPLOYMENT STATUS Full Time CLOSING DATE 21st September, 2026 OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE To install, maintain, test, and repair climate control, cooling, and refrigeration systems, while ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to maintain required temperature, humidity, and air quality standards. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections on HVAC, refrigeration, and industrial kitchen equipment in line with schedules and supervisor directives. Maintain high equipment availability and reliability through effective fault diagnosis, timely repairs, and completion of planned maintenance activities. Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities meet required technical, HSE, LOTO, refrigerant handling, and gas safety standards. Coordinate health and safety aspects of engineering operations, including contractor safety management and risk assessments. Prepare for Health, Safety and Environment audits and support the management of effluent containment facilities. Maintain accurate maintenance and service records to support engineering operations. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Education & Qualification HND in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from recognized institutions. Certified HVAC Technician or similar accreditation. Experience Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience in Heating Ventilation Air Condition and Industrial Kitchen Equipment Systems installation in a mining industry. Knowledge & Skills Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures. Strong understanding of electrical circuits and schematics. Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and values. Ability to perform multiple tasks with quality of work as a priority. Ability to work for long hours to obtain required results with little supervision. Ability to report incidents, accidents, and near misses and participate in investigations. A valid Ghanaian driver's license and proficiency in driving light vehicles.
