SUMITOMO MITSUI BANKING CORPORATION MALAYSIA BERHAD (SMBCMY) Job Description 1. Provide legal support and advise on legal matters on banking products (which may include both conventional and islamic), Bank’s procedures and policies. 2. Review and draft Service Agreements (intragroup and Vendor) and IT contracts. 3. Conduct research and provide guidance and opinions on legal matters, developments and updates on legislations to internal Bank stakeholders. 4. To conduct learning training or arrange for external trainings to relevant stakeholders within the Bank. 5. To monitor court orders served on the Bank. 6. To assist in risk management exercises. 7. All other matters as instructed by the Head of Legal Department. Job Requirements 1. Professional law degree, LLB or equivalent. 2. Certificate of Legal Practice/Bar. 3. Qualified lawyer with 10 to 12 years of experience gained from legal practice/ in house financial institution (prior working experience in financial institution would be added advantage). 4. Understanding of banking products, law relevant to banking/contract law. 5. Good communication skills and analytical.
