About this role
-Teach elementary general music (grades 1–5) and middle school (grades 6-8) band electives using school-provided curricula and lesson plans. -Collaborate with the drama department to help prepare 3rd-5th grade students for their performances using pre-recorded music and choreography videos. -Control the sound system and music for grade level shows. -Maintain a safe, positive, and productive classroom environment through effective classroom management and consistent enforcement of classroom expectations. -Cultivate leadership opportunities for pathway scholars within the Beginning Band program -Foster a welcoming and accepting classroom that prioritizes kindness and creativity while also maintaining high standards and musicianship. -Attend Elective/Enrichment team meetings to maintain continuity with the instructional team. -Keep accurate records of student work, academic progress, participation and preparedness and communicate student grades to the Director of Fine Arts weekly.
-Provide occasional office-hour support to students who need additional assistance with their instruments. -Communicate professionally and appropriately with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, classroom activities, and concerns. -Implement students’ 504 Plan and IEP accommodations and collaborate with the EC team to support student success. -Perform occasional student supervision duties, including carpool, lunch, or other assigned responsibilities. -Interested applicants should submit their current resume and CV to [email protected].
