TITLE: Child Nutrition Accounts Payable Technician FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school and two years of experience in bookkeeping or other accounting work, or graduation from high school supplemented by business school. College-level courses in bookkeeping or accounting substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. APPLICANT MUST UPLOAD: 1. Proof of High School Graduate: HR will accept a legible copy of a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent or college transcripts in PDF format. 2. Resume' DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains and is responsible for the accuracy of cafeteria records. Verifies receipts and deposits for each cafeteria account - balance with each cafeteria cash journal; reconciles bank statements for each cafeteria account. Reconciles cash on deposit monthly for each cafeteria account and submits to Financial Office. Prepares CN cash balances bi-annual report for individual cafeteria accounts and submits to Financial Office. Verifies and corrects as needed invoices from cafeterias; processes invoices for payment; corrects vendor statements and contacts vendors as needed. Prepares payment schedules by vendors for use by vendors and to key for payment. Keys invoices for payment; maintains files for invoices and other documents. Verifies substitute time by Temporary Staffing Agencies. Maintains information for labor study. Compiles and completes rebate forms for purchased food. Assists CN Accountant as needed. Assists with processing reimbursement claims. Assists with compiling information for closing out process. Assists with verifying pay rates. Reviews CCSNA account annually and submits 990EZ form to IRS. Maintains association memberships and certifications. Assists with completing payroll on a timely basis each month; verifies time sheets for cafeteria employees. Receives calls and assists schools with grease related pick-ups and contacts company to resolve problems; verifies refuse bill for payment. Assists schools with pest control issues and scheduling. Answers telephone and routes messages to Child Nutrition Services personnel as needed. Assists with courier mail (incoming and outgoing) distribution to cafeterias and office as needed. Attends and successfully completes all training activities as required to improve ability and knowledge in performance of work duties. Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders. Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required. Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license. REV 04/25
