Position Title: Special Education Long-Term Substitute Qualifications:
• Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification that covers comprehensive Special Education for grades PK-12.
• Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Special Education.
Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee Evaluator: Building Principal and/or designee Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education. Period of Assignment: Starting on or about November 13, 2026 through November 24, 2026. Responsibilities: The Special Education Long-Term Substitute has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:
• Monitor student progress in accordance with IEP.
• Complete progress reports at the conclusion of ESY.
• Plan and implement specially designed instruction for students in accordance with their IEPs.
• Collaborate with related service providers and paraprofessionals
• Provide direct instruction/support for students requiring special education.
• Supervise one/multiple paraeducator.
