About this role
Job Title: Classroom Teacher Department: Curriculum and Instruction Reports to: Building Principals FLSA: Non-Exempt Length of Contract: 190-day contract. Teachers are on-duty for 7 hrs., 30 minutes per day but may periodically be required to attend after-school or evening events as a normal expectation of their position. Job Summary: provides direct and indirect academic instruction, behavioral support, and social-emotional guidance to students in non-traditional classroom settings. Key Responsibilities:
• Instruction: Deliver direct and indirect small group or individualized lessons across multiple subjects and grade levels.
• Behavioral Support: Implement evidence-based behavior management techniques, track behavioral growth, and foster a safe, structured setting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with school counselors, general education teachers, administrators, and parents on student progress.
• Data & Compliance: Monitor and document academic and behavioral data, maintain confidential files, and follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or intervention plans.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Licensure: Must hold a valid Arkansas teaching license appropriate for the assigned grade levels.
• State Ratios: Under Arkansas rules (6 CAR § 272-203),K-6 or K-8 preferred ALE classrooms generally cap at 10 students per teacher (or 12 if a paraprofessional is present).
• Background Check: Successful completion of state and federal pre-employment background checks.
