Position #23569: Human Resources Certificated Coordinator Location: Human Resources Department / Administration Center Hours: 8 Hours per Day (7:30 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.), 260 Days per Year Salary: $28.60 - $33.43 This is an Off-Schedule, non-bargaining position. Open Date: 09/04/2026 Application Deadline/Close Date: 09/11/2026 at 10:00PM, OR until filled. JOB DESCRIPTION This position processes all postings for certificated positions and screens all applicants applying for certificated positions for qualifications, completion of paperwork. This includes fielding questions and helping applicants and supervisors navigate the online application system, routing recommendations for hire, etc. This position may also include processing payroll for the department, ordering supplies and other related duties, including verification of employment. Additionally, the position tracks and provides information regarding Hepatitis B shots, acts as secretary for the PAR Program, does iGrants for administrative internships, National Board payments and performs many other duties as assigned. A courteous, customer-friendly demeanor and team player attitude is a must for this position. • High school diploma.

• Must present transcripts of highest level of education within thirty (30) days of hire.

• Must pass a basic skills test.

• Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within thirty (30) days of hire and yearly thereafter.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of three years of secretarial, office manager, or administrative assistant experience.

• Knowledge of WA State certification requirements.

• Experience in exercising sound judgment to organize, assist public, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

• Experience in accounting procedures, which includes setting up and managing/tracking grants, budget, purchasing, and requisitioning supplies.

• Experience in working under pressure with numerous interruptions while maintaining a positive and appropriate attitude and routine.

• Experience defining problems, collecting data and facts, drawing valid conclusions, and interpreting instructions; use of good judgment in recommending solutions to problems.

• Positive job performance evaluations.

• Evidence of ability to maintain complete and absolute confidentiality in all settings.

• Evidence of accuracy, proficiency, and speed in the use of Microsoft Office programs, and evidence of ability to learn software programs.

• Experience proficiently using copy machines, printers, scanners, telephones, voice mail, and other office equipment.

• Excellent work habits, attendance, punctuality, dependability, teamwork and ability to maintain positive work relationships.

• Ability to work independently or in groups and take initiative to organize meetings/events.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• AA/BA/BS degree in Human Resources.

• Bilingual English/Spanish.

• Successful experience in a human resources office or school district human resources office.

• Knowledge of educational RCWs and WACs.

• Evidence of recent school secretary experience preferred.

• Experience with TalentEd, Timecard Online preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inform job applicants and KSD staff of personnel processes and procedures.

• Screen new applicant paperwork as required.

• Post, revise and track certificated job postings on Talent Ed online application management system.

• Maintain certificated applicant lists, notify supervisors, and pull files for principals as requested.

• Assist supervisors with screening and testing of certificated candidates as needed.

• Schedule and conduct orientation of new staff during the year as requested.

• Support the coordination of the efficient operation of the Human Resources office while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.

• Assist with State Report S-275 as needed.

• Conduct salary studies as requested.

• Work closely with other members of the Human Resources Department to ensure a customer service-focused, friendly, efficient employment office for applicants and district staff.

• Research, compile and prepare reports for Collective Bargaining sessions. Take minutes as needed.

• Respond to employee verification information requests for current/past employees.

• Create personnel correspondence/documents using Microsoft Word, Excel and other district software.

• Work cooperatively with payroll staff to facilitate completion of work within timelines.

• Assist with certificated substitute files/staff as needed.

• Perform clerical duties for HR office: filing, alphabetizing, assist in maintenance of personnel records, forms replacement.

• Answer phones and assist visitors to the Human Resources Department as needed.

• Coordinate the Fingerprinting process and Bloodborne Pathogens training for all new employees.

• Accomplish a high volume of daily work in an accurate, calm, timely manner, especially during the Mid-April to October peak workload period.

• Perform all duties of the position within the scope of Kennewick School District policies and procedures, including regular attendance and punctuality.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.
