Technology Coordinator Fort Scott USD 234 – Fort Scott, Kansas Position: Technology Coordinator Contract: 12-Month, Full-Time Position Reports To: Director of Technology Salary Range: $46,000–$81,689, dependent upon education, experience, and qualifications Benefits: District benefits package provided in accordance with Board policy and applicable employment agreements. Position Summary Fort Scott USD 234 is seeking a qualified and service-oriented Technology Coordinator to assist with the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of the District's technology systems, devices, networks, and related resources. The Technology Coordinator works closely with the Director of Technology, district administrators, staff, students, and technology personnel to ensure technology resources are reliable, secure, and effectively support instructional and operational needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Network & Infrastructure Support: Assist with the installation, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of district wired and wireless networks, internet connectivity, servers, telecommunications, and related infrastructure.

• Device Management: Coordinate deployment, configuration, maintenance, inventory, repair, and replacement of district computers, Chromebooks, mobile devices, peripherals, and other technology equipment.

• Technical Support: Provide timely technical assistance to district staff and students and help coordinate help desk tickets, troubleshooting, repairs, and resolution of technology issues.

• Systems Administration: Assist with administration of district user accounts, software applications, cloud-based systems, device-management platforms, email, and other technology services.

• Cybersecurity & Data Protection: Assist in implementing cybersecurity practices, access controls, filtering, monitoring, software updates, backups, and other safeguards designed to protect district systems and data.

• Technology Projects: Assist the Director of Technology with technology installations, upgrades, infrastructure projects, equipment replacement, and implementation of new systems.

• Inventory & Asset Management: Maintain accurate records of district technology equipment, licensing, warranties, assignments, and replacement schedules.

• Staff Support & Training: Provide guidance and basic training to employees regarding district technology systems, equipment, applications, cybersecurity, and appropriate technology use.

• Vendor Coordination: Assist with technology vendors, service providers, purchasing, warranty claims, equipment repairs, and installation of technology products and services.

• Operational Support: Respond to technology issues that may affect district operations, communications, safety systems, or instructional services.

• Work collaboratively with district technology personnel to establish priorities and provide consistent technology support across all district facilities.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology or district administration.

Qualifications Required/Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, educational technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant education, certifications, and experience may be considered.

• Experience with computer hardware, networks, device management, software applications, and technical troubleshooting.

• Experience supporting Windows, ChromeOS, Google Workspace, mobile devices, and/or other commonly used educational technology platforms preferred.

• Knowledge of basic networking, cybersecurity, user account management, and technology support practices.

• Experience working in a K–12 educational environment is preferred.

• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and customer-service skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to technology needs across multiple district locations.

• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of the District's technology team.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive district, employee, and student information.

Terms of Employment This is a 12-month, full-time position. Salary will be determined based upon education, experience, qualifications, and the District's approved compensation structure, with a salary range of $46,000–$81,689. Employment is subject to applicable Fort Scott USD 234 Board of Education policies and procedures.
