Main duties of the job The Home Manager at L'Hermitage in St Peter, Jersey, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a 42-bed residential, nursing, and dementia care home. This role involves leading and managing staff to promote a caring environment according to best practices and regulations. The manager ensures high satisfaction levels among residents and maintains positive relationships with relatives, purchasers, and external agencies. Other responsibilities include effective financial management and upholding a strong community reputation. Ideal candidates have over two years of experience managing care homes, particularly those specializing in dementia care, and possess strong leadership and budget management skills.

The role:

To take responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the care home and to achieve an industry leading standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and effective management for all staff employed in the home. Promote a caring environment that is delivered according to latest guidelines, best practice, legislative and regulatory requirements. Ensure the effective financial and commercial management of the home in accordance with company policy. Ensure that a high level of satisfaction with the service is achieved and maintained as well as maintaining excellent relationships with relatives, residents, purchasers and external agencies to build and maintain a positive reputation in the local community.

What We're Looking For:

2-3+ years Home Manager experience. Care of older people in a Residential and Dementia setting Ability to control and manage a budget and accounts. Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and Health and Safety Legislation Ability to raise standards through innovation and new ideas

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

The ideal candidate should have 2-3+ years of experience as a Home Manager, particularly in a residential and dementia setting. Knowledge of Care Standards Act, Health and Safety Legislation, and the ability to manage budgets and accounts are essential. Strong leadership skills, innovative thinking, and the capability to raise care standards are highly valued attributes for this role.
