Job SummaryYou will serve as a in the SUPERVISORY CRIMINAL INFORMATION OFFICER in the CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION DIVISION of NCIS. All Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) positions are in the excepted service. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status. This job will close when we have received 50 applications which may be sooner that the closing date.
QualificationsYour resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing oversight and compliance with the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) policies and procedures for collection, storage, use, and safeguarding of information and providing oversight and development of biometrics, fingerprints, and criminal justice information reporting policies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Major DutiesYou will supervise and direct development, implementation and management of the worldwide Criminal Justice Information Division (CJID) programs.You will assist planning efforts and offer recommendations regarding policy development and implementation, resolution of complex criminal justice reporting issues, and technological integration.You will offer advice regarding organizational directives to resolve management problems.You will develop National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and fingerprint training for personnel using biometric technologies.You will troubleshoot to resolve problems and engage vendor support to repair/replace equipment, ensuring compliance with maintenance agreements.
