QualificationsIN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION AT THE GS-7 LEVEL YOU MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-6) in Federal Service, that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) needed to successfully perform the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to this Housing Assistant position to be filled. Specialized experience includes using computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software, to organize, input, and maintain data; providing housing information and coordinating viewings; developing relationships with other organizations such as property management groups and landlords. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.) ~AND~ DRIVER'S LICENSE REQUIREMENT: This position requires a current, valid state driver's license. Major Duties***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Major duties and responsibilities include: Providing housing lists for Veterans and conducting housing seminars. Driving Veterans to or meeting them at housing units for viewing and walk-through purposes. Coordinating services between the VA and private housing organizations. Communicating with landlords and public housing authorities. Collecting and managing clinical and administrative data for the program. Maintaining an inventory of available housing units and conducting outreach to prospective landlords. Performing other duties as assigned. Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP) - See "Required Documents" below for details. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
