QualificationsSCREEN-OUT: Requires the ability to Lead or Supervise the work of as a Laundry Leader. Related experience includes assigning work and leading staff engaged in laundry and linen operations, monitoring work in progress; overseeing the receiving, sorting and distribution of linen; operating commercial laundry equipment; and using Microsoft applications to maintains laundry inventories, prepare reports, track performance, and support operational documentation. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Work requires daily walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing carts, pulling loads and lifting items up to 50 pounds. Some administrative work is sedentary. Work is performed in hot, humid environments with strong odors, noise, moving machinery and potential exposure to infectious materials and chemicals. PPE is mandatory. Work involves confined spaces and mechanical hazards requiring strict adherence to safety procedures. Major DutiesDuties include but may not be limited to: Assigning work to crew members, relays supervisor instructions and ensures work is properly started and maintained throughout shifts. Working alongside staff and sets the pace for production, quality, and compliance with safety and infection control procedures. Demonstrating proper work methods for linen handling, sterile area procedures, equipment operation and safe work practices. Monitoring work in progress and upon completion to ensure proper sequencing, methods, standards and deadlines. Providing technical guidance, answers questions on policies, procedures and linen handling protocols. Overseeing the receiving, sorting, staging, and distributing of clean linen to inpatient and outpatient units. Ensuring proper collection, containment and transportation of soiled linen from clinical users to the laundry plant following infection control and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Requesting and receiving disposable gowns, drapes and other textile supplies. Maintaining sanitation and environmental cleanliness of linen rooms and storage areas. Operating commercial laundry equipment (e.g., washers, extractors, dryers, feeders, folders, conveyors, care systems, sorting equipment, and sling/rail systems. Coordinating preventive maintenance scheduling, reports performance deficiencies and monitoring equipment usage. Loading and unloading linen carts using hydraulic lifts and secures cargo safely. Participating in routine and long-range planning related to process improvement, staffing, workload, equipment lifecycles and linen demands. Using Microsoft applications to maintain inventories, prepare reports, review vendor data, track performance, and support operational documentation. Performs other duties as assigned.
