Job SummaryAbout the Position: Performs supervisory duties as Deputy Operations Project Manager of a system of multipurpose water resources development projects with hydropower assets. Serves as the fully empowered deputy with authority to act in on behalf of the Operations Project Manager at all times. Serves as primary advisor in all managerial phases of the Project's work.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing and directing the daily operations, maintenance, and administrative functions of complex multipurpose water resources and hydropower projects; 2) Evaluating complex engineering/maintenance operations, and mitigating operational risks; and 3) Managing program risks and safety policies, to include direct oversight of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major DutiesParticipates fully in organizing staff, resources, work activities and performance expectations for the multipurpose system of projects.Serves as rating supervisor to direct and second level supervisors.Leads and supports field engineering, compliance, fisheries, recreation, maintenance, operations, administrative and budget and environmental stewardship managers in operations and maintenance of completed multipurpose facilities, lands and waters.Manages the team overseeing the projects’ Environmental Health and Safety Program .Monitors scheduling, budgeting and commitment of staff to assigned projects.
