Job SummaryAbout the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Hubbard Golf Course as a Regular, Part-time employee with benefits. This position has an uncommon TOD to include holidays and weekends.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience in overall operations of a golf facility including the rules of golf, equipment sale and repair, and handicapping. Must have prior tournament organization experience. Must have experience which demonstrated the ability to manage a retail operation for profit, merchandise display, inventory controls and receipt, disbursement, deposit, or other processing of cash items to include direct handling of cash items and use of cash accountability and inventory control methods. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Performance is measured on basis of results achieved; customer satisfaction, participation and interest, profitability of operations, maximizing efficiency and effectiveness of program. Must report unresolved cash, inventory, or participation discrepancies to the manager in a timely manner. Must administer handicap procedures appropriately. Ensures EEO concepts are applied and appropriate work environment is maintained. Conduct must be professional and courteous at all times. Must follow safety, fire, and security directives and requirements.

Major DutiesPromotes, organizes, schedules and conducts golf tournaments, matches and special golf events. Oversees operations related to golf retail shop and cart barn to include supervisory responsibility for assigned pro-shop and cart barn staff. Plans, schedules, and coordinates work operations, to include displays, prices, merchandising and inventory. Hires, directs, approves leave, solves problems related to work being supervised, disciplines, and evaluates subordinate staff work performance. Ensures the overall golf course program follows established standards and advises director of Golf of any deviations. Interprets rules or procedures for program participants. Monitors etiquette and play of golfers. Schedules tee times, golf clinics, lessons and tournaments. Administers handicapping for golfers. Assists VIP golfers in protocol procedures. Ensures basic maintenance requirements are followed and advises appropriate personnel if changes or repairs are required. Assists customers in the fitting, selection and ordering of golf equipment. Performs cashier functions; receives payments, issues receipt, makes change, and completes related cash control forms and processes. Ensures all sales, fees and charges are rung up on the cash register. May be assigned government purchase cardholder duties and responsibilities. Receives and resolves customer complaints and requests for special services. Performs other duties as assigned.
