Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is with the U.S. Special Operations Command (Army),Deputy Commanding Staff, G-2 Security Division, Information Security Branch located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Conducting formal inspections to verify organizational compliance with established information security programs. 2. Publishing specific classification guides for operational plans or research projects. 3. Initiating preliminary inquiries regarding the suspected compromise of sensitive defense information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1. Conducting formal inspections to verify organizational compliance with established information security programs. 2. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Major DutiesDevelop policies and procedures to protect classified information.Assist Security Managers in implementing policy and procedures.Serve as INFOSEC/Foreign Disclosure Officer branch manager.Advise and represent commanders on information security matters.Provide assistance on classification problems and coordinates with the appropriate activity to resolve classification conflicts.Take action on reports of possible compromise of classified information and security violations.Maintain records of work accomplishment.Direct the command security education program.
