Job SummaryAbout the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located in Adams, Pennsylvania.

In order to qualify, you must meet the one year experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1. Repairing digital, analog, or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone systems to restore communication between agencies; 2. Troubleshooting digital switching platforms to ensure voice and data packets route correctly between users; 3. Performing maintenance on telecommunication subsystems to minimize service interruptions for subscribers; 4. Constructing wiring main distributing frames to meet government specifications. OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Major DutiesServe as a Switched Systems technician to prevent communication failure at Raven Rock Mountain Complex (RRMC).Perform maintenance on all switching systems, subsystems, and peripheral devices to prevent communication failures during military operations.Diagnose service faults associated with various types of transmission media to prevent network isolation.Deliver installation requirements to designated work centers to provide hands-on technical assistance throughout the execution process.
