This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
Major DutiesAssists the Division Chief in all aspects of the mission, including program planning, resource management, coordination, supervision, and training.In the absence of the Division Chief, the incumbent services as the Acting Chief, assuming total responsibility and authority for the division.Executes the Corps Regulatory Program, ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies.Monitors and reports on the progress of policies and procedures, initiating changes to improve efficiency.Oversees the branch's permit processes - Counseling potential applicants and ensuring permit complianceOversees the branch's programmatic initiatives - Assisting the Division Chief in developing and implementing new initiatives for the regulatory program.Establishes work priorities and schedules for subordinates.Assigns tasks, monitors resource needs, and provides input for budget and manpower forecasting.Supervises and evaluates employee performance, provides counseling, handles disciplinary actions, implements and oversees branch training and manages recruitment actions.
