QualificationsGENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for the GS-0201-09 level, you must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have experience providing technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of administrative procedures and practices of management. Experience developing administrative procedures.

Major DutiesAs a HR SPECIALIST (MILITARY) -Title 32, GS-0201-9, you will provide technical expertise and guidance for all military personnel assigned in the State, and oversees the functions of one of the following human resource programs: Officer Personnel Management (OPM), Enlisted Personnel Management (EPM), Personnel Systems, Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A), or the Personnel Services Section.RequirementsMILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: E-1 through E-6 Conditions of Employment: National Guard Membership is required. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and selecting officials, and Major Subordinate Commands, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
