Job SummaryAbout the position: This position will be assigned to the Tinker Outdoor Recreation Program. This is a Regular Part Time position with a minimum guaranteed 20 hours per week. Incumbent will be eligible for benefits including Health and Dental coverage, Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures and program and rental equipment (tents, campers, camping gear, athletic equipment, wood chippers, log splitters, mowers, rototillers, boats, etc.) Ability to safeguard and handle cash and ability to perform minor (user) maintenance on program and rental equipment. Possess limited knowledge of and be able to use computer database for recordkeeping and point of sale. Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.

Major DutiesPerforms and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialist in representing program potential to patrons, providing information about services, program and rental equipment availability and pricing. Provides assistance to patrons by explaining the functions and features availability on equipment. Demonstrates the use of simple tools and equipment. Issues customer checkout/rental items. Receives returned items and checks for damages. Inspects program and rental equipment to ensure safe condition and proper mechanical operation. Performs basic "user" equipment maintenance and makes minor repairs. Stocks shelves, cleans and returns equipment and supplies to storage areas. Performs general housekeeping duties. Assists clientele in completing forms and registration cards. Serves as a sales representative in a general or specialized area. Answers telephone and provides accurate information. Performs routine supply/inventory duties such as processing documents, posting and establishing new records. Performs cashier duties by receiving monies due, issuing change and receipts and completing related cash control forms. Performs other related duties as assigned.
