Core responsibilities - Develop and operate batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and serve data. - Model data for analytics and downstream consumption (e.g., dimensional, wide-table, or domain-oriented models). - Implement data quality checks, monitoring, alerting, and incident response for pipeline reliability. - Optimize performance and cost across storage, compute, and query layers. - Manage orchestration, scheduling, and dependencies using workflow tools. - Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to define data requirements and SLAs. - Maintain documentation, lineage, and governance practices to support auditability and trust. Required skills - Programming: Proficiency in SQL and at least one language such as Python, Java, or Scala. - Data systems: Experience with data warehouses/lakes and distributed processing frameworks. - Orchestration: Hands-on with tools like Airflow, Dagster, or similar schedulers. - Cloud: Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP services for data engineering. - Quality & reliability: Testing, observability, and CI/CD for data pipelines. - Collaboration: Ability to translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
