Together with our global network, we work with the entire political ecosystem in a country, from aspiring politicians to political parties to civic leaders, and from the national to the local level. We promote dialogue, strengthen the capacities of political actors, and train young and established leaders in our Democracy Schools. Currently, we run programmes in around twenty countries in Africa, Latin America, Central and Southeast Asia, and the MENA region. For more information about NIMD, see: https://nimd.org / Composition and expertise of the Supervisory Council The Council currently consists of six members. According to NIMD's Articles of Association, the Supervisory Council may consist of a minimum of five and a maximum of nine members. On 1 November 2026 and 1 January 2027, two members of the Supervisory Council will step down, in line with the regulations, after serving two terms. At the same time, it has been decided that the Supervisory Council will in principle consist of five members going forward. This creates a vacancy for a member of the Supervisory Council as of 1 November 2026. The current composition of the Supervisory Council can be found here.
