Cordaid provides health care services, emergency relief, food security, education, and access to justice in the world's most fragile and conflict-affected contexts, in which Cordaid strives to end poverty and exclusion. Climate change has been a cross-cutting topic for Cordaid's work for many years. Climate Justice Climate change is not just an environmental issue but a central development challenge with disproportionate impacts on vulnerable groups, especially women, children, displaced people, and those in poverty. Climate change is an enormous threat multiplier that affects daily resilience, security and well-being and exacerbates conflicts and humanitarian crises that can deepen instability. In the fragile contexts where Cordaid is working, the effects of rising temperatures and extreme weather are already undermining progress and are heavily felt by the people who have least contributed to global warming. This is climate injustice, which cannot be ignored in our projects. Partners and Cordaid staff know that climate change plays an important role in almost every project, whether it is Health, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems, Security and Justice or Humanitarian Assistance, but we want to learn how to integrate approaches to make our projects more climate sensitive.
