About this role
PTM Infra bv is a contractor specialized in the installation of utility infrastructure and fiber-optic (FTTH) networks. Before any network can be built, a ground plan needs to be worked out first: where the cables run, where the connection points go, and how that fits with what is already underground. That preparation is done by our Fiber Designers, and it largely determines how smoothly the work goes on site afterwards. Your role: As a Fiber Designer, you draw up ground plans of fiber-optic networks in major Belgian cities. Designing, drawing and checking the ground plans of the fiber-optic networks. Working with a drawing program provided by the customer; on-the-job training will be provided in combination with AutoCAD. After drawing up the ground plans, noting down all the necessary details for the installation of the fiber-optic networks. Acting as the link between design and execution: you are the direct point of contact for our technicians on site. Joining a cool and dynamic team, working closely with colleagues and the team coordinator. A technical education in IT, Digital Arts or equivalent through experience forms your basis; knowledge of fiber and telecoms is a big plus. You master AutoCAD and GIS well, and preferably bring several years of experience as a draughtsman. Fluency with the PC in general, combined with strong Excel skills, makes you efficient in your work. An eye for detail and accuracy are traits that characterize you. Working independently suits you well, while you are also a real team player.
