Job Title: Retail Service Technician Department: Grocery FLSA: Non-Exempt
General Function: Diagnoses problems with and performs maintenance, repairs and part replacement on all equipment. Responsible for building maintenance.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintains and repairs equipment and building to ensure good working order and meets OSHA regulations. • Establishes work orders and develops schedules to implement assigned tasks. • Performs building repairs, investigates reported problems areas, and contacts suppliers/vendors. • Rotates between four to five stores in surrounding areas. • Plans expansions and makes estimates of equipment, lighting, and fixtures needed by the proposal, and makes recommendations to supervisor. • Keeps work area, tools and equipment clean, good repair and in proper placement. • Creates definitive maintenance schedules and practice preventative maintenance. • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Attends safety meetings as assigned. • Is always On-Call status. • Solicits feedback on any trends with any equipment that may require follow-up with manufacturer or sales people. • Advantage IQ – Hy-Vee’s bench marking tool Shares ideas and practices for any potential energy savings projects. • The use of rebates are encouraged. Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
• Maintains appropriate certifications. • Must have a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience:
• High School or equivalent experience, HVAC & Refrigeration Certified. • Appropriate Certifications. • Verisae refrigerant management system – EPA Compliance. • OSHA required safety training.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. (Can be accommodated) • Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision. • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions: Retail store setting.
