The Position Deputy Manager, Quality, Mehsana Plant

Job Summary As the world’s leading supplier of specialty minerals for industry, Imerys is organized around the 3 following Business areas:: Performance Minerals (PM), Solutions for Refractory, Abrasives and Construction (RAC), and Solutions for Energy Transition (SET). Performance Minerals are used as functional additives, providing unique properties to our customers’ products of the following main markets: Plastics Paints & coatings Filtration & life-sciences Ceramics & building products This business area is split into 2 geographic areas Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific (PM EMEA & APAC), and the Americas. This plant comes under PM EMEA & APAC.

• Assessing customer requirements and ensuring that the standards are met or exceeded

• Investigating and setting standards of Quality, Health and Safety

• Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with standards at both domestic and international levels

• Working with operating staff to establish standards, systems, and procedures

• Writing management and technical reports and customer complaint investigations

• Determining training needs, conducting routine training for the teams, and self-training for improvements.

• Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance quality

• Directing objectives to maximize profitability

• Recording, analyzing, and distributing statistical information

• Supervising technical or laboratory staff

• Responsible for the product quality control for the entire plant

• Maintaining a clean and safe laboratory

• Find proactive means of recipe optimization, alternative development , re-formulation, etc

• Establish and direct Lab policies and procedures

• Responsible leader with continuous coaching / mentoring functional and cross-functional teams

• Assisting plant managers in reaching plant production, Customer satisfaction, and costing goals.

• Schedule and conduct meetings as and when necessary.

• Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings.

• Improve the 5S of your area and overall plant standard, Deploy problem-solving techniques to find an innovative solution

• Responsible for People management & development.

• Networking with the other Plant (both internally & externally).

• 10% of the job profile involves travelling. ( RM vendor/Mine visit, Customer visits, QC inspection etc)

• Education and Experience requirements:

• A Bachelor/Master degree in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Any similar stream.

• 5-8 yrs of experience.

• Preferably form Mineral, Coatings, Polymer processing industry

• Knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics:

• Proficient in Google workplace, MS office

• Excellent technical skills, Preferred software proficiency in Minitab etc

• Good numerical skills and an understanding of statistics. (Six Sigma ,Green Belt etc)

• Planning and organisation skills

• Communication and interpersonal skills

• Problem-solving & Leadership skills

• Growth mindset

• Open Minded and ability to learn new subjects

• Organized and rigorous, pay attention to details.

• Operational experience in a production environment.

• Extended HSE knowledge.
