About this role
Amazon's Selling Partner Communities (SPC) organization is looking for a Director to lead Selling Partner Communications, the organization that controls what content sellers see, which sellers see it, when they see it, and through which channel. This is one of the highest judgment, highest visibility leadership roles in the Selling Partner ecosystem, directly shaping the experience of millions of independent sellers who represent over 60% of units sold on Amazon.com. You would be the single threaded owner of Amazon's entire seller communications ecosystem: strategic communications, seller events, product marketing, creative content, and program management, all under one roof. Every major seller facing announcement flows through your organization: fee changes, policy launches, enforcement actions, product releases, and high velocity events like Amazon Accelerate. You own the end to end narrative, not a slice of it. The problems here are genuinely hard. You'll need to hold the seller's perspective and Amazon's business priorities in tension, often simultaneously, without defaulting to easy answers. You'll coordinate the most complex, cross functional communications challenges at Amazon, influencing without authority across dozens of partner teams who each have their own priorities and timelines. The right call is rarely obvious, the stakes are real, and the work matters. This role needs someone who thrives in ambiguity and makes sharp decisions under pressure. Someone who earns trust at every level, thinks two steps ahead of the business, and brings a strong point of view backed by substance. If you want a role where you own the strategy, run the operation, and can point to work that millions of sellers actually experience, this is it. Key job responsibilities Seller Events & High Velocity Moments: You own communications strategy for Amazon's highest stakes seller moments: Prime Day, BFCM, Prime Big Deal Days, Holiday, and flagship Seller Events including New Seller Summit, Seller Growth Summit, and Amazon Accelerate. These aren't templated playbooks. Each event requires dynamic, personalized communication plans that adapt to where each seller actually is in their readiness and business context. You'll lead multi channel coordination across dozens of partner teams, own Accelerate scripting and event content strategy, and be the person who decides what millions of sellers hear during the moments that matter most to their business. Strategic Communications: Every major announcement that reaches sellers flows through your organization: fee changes, policy launches, enforcement actions, product releases. You own the writing, execution, and amplification of all strategic communications across internal and external audiences, working upstream with product and policy teams from the earliest stages of development, not after decisions are already made. You also own Amazon's external seller communications strategy in partnership with PR and SER, including proactive and reactive media response and executive thought leadership. You'll manage the monthly external seller communications mechanism that gives L10 level visibility into the upcoming calendar of announcements across the entire seller business, and lead an editorial team managing Tier 1 and Tier 2 communications at scale. Product Marketing, GTM & Creative Content You own the full lifecycle of how Amazon brings seller facing products and programs to market: what we communicate, to whom, when, and through which channels. That means building GTM plans in coordination with product, PR, legal, and support, defining the right message, audience, timing, and channel for every key launch. You'll drive product adoption through go to market execution that meets sellers where they are, not just announcing features but visually showing sellers what's possible and making adoption feel obvious. You also own creative production: the team and capability that brings seller stories to life and visually drives product GTM and adoption across every seller facing surface. That includes brand consistent creative assets, seller spotlight series, video content, and learning experiences, all produced and adapted for the channels where sellers actually engage. This isn't a support function. It's the engine that turns product launches into seller action and turns real seller experiences into content that builds trust at scale. Program Management & Metrics: You own seller satisfaction goals, including the SPS level goal to reduce WW seller communications related dissatisfaction. This is the connective tissue work: centralized intake, content governance, quality assurance, and bar raising across all seller facing communications. You own content performance analytics, omni channel measurement, and the Transparency Index. And critically, you ensure no communication reaches sellers without proper coordination, and that the cumulative impact on sellers is always considered across change management, support, and enforcement teams. This is the hardest part of the job and the part that breaks without strong leadership.
