The Mexican Corner is looking for a motivated and passionate Chef de Partie to join our Back of House team in Whistler, BC.
This is a great opportunity for a cook with 1?2 years of professional kitchen experience who is ready to take the next step in their culinary career, strengthen their skills, and begin developing greater responsibility within a busy restaurant kitchen.
Working alongside our Head Chef, Sous Chef and culinary team, you?ll play an important role in daily preparation and service, maintaining food quality and consistency, supporting your station, and helping the kitchen deliver a great guest experience.

What You?ll Do
As Chef de Partie, you?ll take ownership of your station while working closely with the kitchen leadership team. Your responsibilities will include:
* Prepare, cook and present menu items according to established recipes and standards * Take responsibility for the organization, preparation and execution of your assigned station * Maintain consistent standards for food quality, presentation, portioning and timing * Complete daily mise en place and ensure your station is prepared for service * Work efficiently during high-volume service while maintaining quality and attention to detail * Follow proper food handling, storage, rotation and waste-control procedures * Maintain a clean, organized and safe workstation * Follow FoodSafe, sanitation, health and WorkSafeBC requirements * Communicate effectively with other kitchen stations and FOH team members during service * Assist with receiving, storage and inventory as required * Support and assist other cooks during preparation and service * Help maintain recipe and portion consistency across the kitchen * Continue developing your culinary knowledge and technical skills through coaching from the Head Chef and Sous Chef * Take on additional responsibilities as your skills and experience develop
What We?re Looking For
You don?t need years of management experience for this position. We?re looking for someone with a strong culinary foundation who is ready to grow.
* 1?2 years of professional kitchen experience * Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen preferred * Solid understanding of basic cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen organization * Ability to confidently manage a station during service * Strong attention to food quality, consistency and presentation * Good organizational and time-management skills * Ability to work effectively as part of a team * Willingness to learn, take feedback and continue developing * Dependable, positive and accountable approach to work * Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices * FoodSafe certification, or willingness to obtain it * Culinary education is an asset but not required * Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
