JOB DESCRIPTIONSecurity Shift Supervisor - Halifax ShipyardReporting to the Site Security Manager and the Assistant Manager, the Shift Supervisor is responsible to provide direction and oversight to group of Security Officers within a 24/7 operation and oversee their activities to ensure protection of the Company's assets, properties and resources.RESPONSIBILITIESThe candidate's key responsibilities would include:Supervising security team at the Halifax ShipyardPerforming daily post inspectionsPerformance management for direct reportsTraining compliance for new hires Ensuring all occurrence reports are written and submitted in a timely mannerCoordinating daily patrols of internal sites and parking areas.Issuing summary offense tickets for parking violationsMedical First Response to various incidentsSupervision and coordination of Security IncidentsConducting daily shift briefing with security team Maintaining a log of all daily occurrences and reportsPerforming walk-throughs of HMCS Vessels every shiftConducting and coordinating training as requiredAssuming overall command of team during a critical incident or major security event in absence of the Site Security Manager or Assistant Manager QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 5 years of experience in Security, Law enforcement, military or Emergency ResponseMinimum of 3 years of experience in supervising or managementAbility to support and motivate in a 24/7/365 operationsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with training implementation and delivery would be an assetA clean driving record and a valid Driver's License ABOUT USFounded in 1882, J.D.
