About Us
Bittersweet Symphony is a busy, high-volume bakery specializing in custom cakes, wedding cakes, desserts, pastries and large-scale orders. We are looking for a talented and efficient Cake Decorator to join our friendly and creative team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced bakery, takes pride in their work and can maintain excellent quality while completing orders on time.
Responsibilities
* Decorate birthday cakes, wedding cakes, custom cakes and other specialty desserts * Apply buttercream smoothly and complete piping, borders and decorative finishes * Work with fondant, edible images, chocolate decorations, flowers and cake toppers * Follow customer orders, design instructions and reference images accurately * Produce consistent, high-quality work in a high-volume bakery environment * Manage multiple orders while meeting daily production deadlines * Prepare buttercream, fillings and other decorating materials as required * Maintain a clean, organized and food-safe workstation * Communicate clearly with other decorators, bakers and front-of-house team members * Assist with packaging, labelling and organizing completed orders * Support the team during busy weekends, wedding season and holiday periods
Qualifications
* Previous professional cake-decorating experience is preferred * Strong buttercream piping and cake-finishing skills * Experience with custom and wedding cakes is an asset * Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality * Strong attention to detail and good time-management skills * Dependable, punctual and organized * Able to follow instructions and work independently when required * Positive attitude and ability to work well within a friendly team * Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume bakery * Must be available for some weekends and busy holiday periods * Food Handler Certification is an asset

* Ability to stand for extended periods * Ability to lift and carry cakes, ingredients and supplies * Comfortable working in a busy commercial bakery environment

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
