About this role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Analyze latitude, longitude and angles and compute trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours and areas to a specific scale. Assist survey engineers or professional surveyors to develop methods and procedures for conducting field surveys. Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations and contours. Determine precise geographic locations using global positioning systems (GPS) equipment. Prepare detailed drawings, charts and plans and survey notes and reports. Record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities. Supervise and co-ordinate field survey activities. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Computer and technology knowledge: Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. AutoCAD. Survey specialization: Topographic survey. Land survey. Engineering. Geodetic. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Experience: 5 years or more. Health benefits: Dental plan.
