Education: Bachelor's degree. Agricultural animal breeding. Animal health. Animal sciences, other. Veterinary/animal health technology/technician and veterinary assistant. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots. Livestock combination farming. Other miscellaneous crop farming. Livestock. Farm. Work setting: Rural area. Remote location. Tasks: Conduct artificial insemination and spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses. Develop specific plans to prioritize. Direct farm grooming activities . Handling animals. Monitor the calving process. Monitoring animal health. Organize tasks to accomplish the work. Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Maintain livestock performance records. Maintain quality control and production records. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations. Maintain work records and logs. Hire and train staff. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Perform general farm duties. Supervision: 1 to 2 people.
