Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Computer science. Network and system administration/administrator. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Help desk. Tasks: Install software. Install web server hardware and software. Load printer with paper and forms. Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks. Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software. Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software. Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records. Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations. Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations. Supervise technical staff. Supervision: 1 to 2 people.
