Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Read blueprints to determine dimensions of structure or system and material requirements. Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations. Prepare project schedules. Supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials. Resource usage and environmental studies: Environmental assessment. Computer and technology knowledge: Geographic Information System (GIS). Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. AutoCAD. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Project. MS Word. Civil engineering experience: Drainage and irrigation system. Sewers and sewage treatment facilities. Water control system and structures.
