• Completes and signs necessary forms and explains the procedure to the patient. • Maintains patient care, comfort, and safety during transport to and from the coach and the exam. • Maintains technical competency through continued education. • Cooperates with facility healthcare personnel and complies with facility policies and procedures. • May assist with the setup and tear down of equipment following SMS and/or manufacturers' guidelines. • Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the facility. • Completes all necessary administrative tasks. • Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality. • Complies with all safety policies and regulations. • Performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION

• Radiographer certification preferred. • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an MRI Tech. 2 years medical assistant or imaging assistant

Requirements:

Must be able to safely enter and work in MRI Zones III and IV in accordance with MRI safety guidelines.

• Knowledge of human anatomy. • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work. • IV experience preferred • The MRI environment includes strong magnetic fields that may pose safety risks for individuals with certain metallic objects or devices.

SKILLS

• Strong customer service. • Strong attention-to-detail. • Ability to work under pressure.

Abilities:

• Lift and position patients for the type of MRI procedure required.

• Keep and maintain records.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Normal clinic environment.

• May be exposed to disease, and toxic chemicals in the course of performing the work.

• PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

• Sedentary work, with occasional walking.

• Must be able to lift as some patients may have to be lifted and/or turned. –50 POUNDS
