Position Summary:

Brookside Golf Club at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena is seeking a full-time cook. Cooks are responsible for food preparation and supporting multiple workstations. Be able to handle raw produce and meat while following all health and safety guidelines. Prepare and monitor the production of multiple menu items while adhering to recipes. Maintain our high standards of quality across a variety of assignments and workstations/ locations. Adhere to all food handling and sanitation guidelines. Handle all production equipment while following its safety guidelines. Understand and follow dynamic timelines for production as required by customer flow to ensure timely service to customers. Interact with staff and guests in a high-volume, fast-paced dining environment. Work will be assigned by the Chef and/or Kitchen Manager. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines established by the Food Service and Safety Department.

Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour BOE

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of cooking experience (required) or

• Equivalent combination of education and experience (required)

• Minimum education: High School Diploma or equivalent (required)

• Experience in managing and upholding a safe workplace environment(required)

• Flexible schedule & open availability, as hours can fluctuate depending on business demand (required)

• Understand all safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures (required)

• 1 or more years of experience in a catering kitchen (preferred)

• Ability to read, understand, and speak English sufficiently to carry out job duties (required)

• Able to comply with safety standards and procedures for both personal and public safety (required)

• Able to produce and present food in a high-volume environment and work efficiently under conditions of dynamic workloads and schedules (required)

• Able to maintain regular, PUNCTUAL attendance (required)

• Familiar with different service formats from à la carte to Banquet and plated services (preferred)

• Able to take direction and work in a team environment (required)

Responsibilities:

• Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served

• Assist the Chef/Kitchen Manager with set-up and preparation of food items for all food outlets on the property

• Carefully follow standard recipes while preparing all assigned items

• Assist the Chef/Kitchen Manager with conducting a monthly food/supplies inventory

• Properly utilizes and maintains the equipment

• Performs necessary clean-up and sanitation maintenance activities for all food preparation and storage facilities as directed by the Chef/Kitchen Manager

• Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils

• Change dishwater

• Carries clean dishes to the cook's line and other proper storage areas

• Help distribute food and supplies throughout the food outlets

• Clean food production, holding, and serving equipment when needed

• Assist with product receiving and/or storage of products

• Full compliance with the Department of Health regulations

• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager
