The Software Developer – Automation & AI Solutions is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions that automate business processes, optimize workflows, and integrate AI-driven capabilities into McLeod Software's product platform. What You'll Do
• Design, develop, test and maintain software for new and existing applications.
• Develop automation and workflow solutions to improve customer processes.
• Develop and integrate AI and Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities into software applications and workflows.
• Build modern web applications, APIs, services and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Work across existing codebases and technology stacks to enhance and modernize established products.
• Create prototypes and proofs of concept to evaluate new AI and automation capabilities.
• Troubleshoot complex software and customer business challenges.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technology evaluations.
• Work closely with Product Management and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
What You'll Need
• Bachelor's degree, required.
• 2+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and demonstrated experience developing production software required.
• Demonstrated progressive experience – gradual advancement in responsibilities, complexity, and skills indicating clear career progression, required.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals required.
• Experience with AI-powered applications, LLMs, or AI agents, along with software architecture, object-oriented development, debugging, and problem-solving skills required.
• Experience with modern web development, APIs, system integrations, relational databases (Agile methodologies, preferred)
• Experience with the following (preferred): JavaScript, TypeScript, React, C++, SQL, REST APIs, Git, AI/LLM platforms and APIs, AI agents and agentic workflows, document processing/OCR, workflow automation, commercial or enterprise software development, and document management, imaging, or logistics applications.
