HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $22-$24 DOE; overtime eligible
The Sacramento Marriott Rancho Cordova is seeking an experienced and dynamic Line Cook to join our Kitchen Team.
Our 265-room property has recently completed a top-to-bottom renovation, including 13,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a revitalized property and help deliver exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items efficiently, safely, and consistently in accordance with hotel and restaurant standards. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiences by ensuring all dishes are prepared to specification, presented professionally, and served in a timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
• Set up and stock workstations with necessary supplies and ingredients for service.
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet hotel and brand standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with receiving, storing, rotating, and labeling food products.
• Monitor food inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and restaurant team members to ensure efficient service.
• Assist with opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
Open availability is required for PM shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, Monday through Saturday.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; culinary degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-–5 years of line cook experience in a fast-paced restaurant or kitchen environment required.
• Hotel restaurant experience preferred.
• Pantry, grill, and sauté experience preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
• Valid California Food Handler Card required.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
• Relevant military experience in a comparable capacity is welcome.
