About this role
Essential Functions:
• Inspection & Assessment: Conduct routine structural inspections of facility racking systems to identify damage, deflections, sheared anchors, missing safety pins, or compromised uprights/beams.
• Repair & Restoration: Perform structural repairs on damaged components using approved manufacturer kits, section replacements, or certified welding techniques. Realign and reinforce bent or unanchored racking frame systems.
• Preventative Maintenance: Proactively identify high-risk areas (e.g., end-of-row frames frequently hit by forklifts) and install preventative safety features like column protectors and guardrails.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer guidelines, RMI (Rack Manufacturers Institute) standards, and OSHA regulations. Tag out and isolate damaged racks immediately to prevent loading before repairs are complete.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date logs of all inspections, completed repairs, parts used, and safety certifications for facility compliance auditing.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and forklift operators to schedule repairs during off-peak hours, minimizing disruptions to manufacturing production.
