About this role
Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and operational support for all laundry equipment and related systems in an efficient, safe, and accident-free manner. Ensure all laundry machinery operates properly to support hotel/resort operations and guest service standards.
Essential Functions:
• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on commercial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironers, folders, presses, and related machinery.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on laundry equipment and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues affecting laundry operations.
• Clean and maintain laundry equipment, work areas, and maintenance tools.
• Document all repairs performed, parts used, and parts required for purchase.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize operational downtime.
• Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering or Maintenance Manager.
• Assist with equipment installations and upgrades as assigned.
• Maintain inventory of laundry equipment parts and supplies.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair lint collectors, commercial washers, dryers, ironers, folders, presses, conveyors, air compressors, and related laundry equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic equipment failures.
• Replace worn or defective components, including belts, bearings, motors, pumps, valves, sensors, and electrical controls.
• Calibrate and test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and parts inventory.
• Coordinate with operations staff to minimize equipment downtime.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work area.
• Follow OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and all facility safety policies.
• Recommend equipment upgrades and replacement when repairs are no longer cost-effective.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new laundry equipment
• All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school training in mechanical, electrical, industrial maintenance, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum four (4) years of experience in commercial laundry equipment, maintenance,
industrial machinery maintenance, mechanical repair, or a related maintenance field.
Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of commercial laundry equipment and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
• Basic understanding of preventive maintenance programs and equipment safety procedures.
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and repair instructions.
• Ability to operate maintenance tools and test equipment.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
