Opportunity Title: Assistant Educator, School Programs
Reports To: Assistant Director of Education
Salary Range: $50,000– $52,000
FLSA: Salary
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Expand school engagement with Newfields by building and maintaining relationships with teachers, school administrators, and districts partners.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement school and teacher programs, including but not limited to teacher workshops, teacher continuing education sessions, educator and student resources, and field trips.
• Develop new and innovative programs, partnerships, and resources that integrate emerging trends in PreK-12 education.
• With Marketing and Communications, design print and digital promotional materials.
• With the Educator, Tour and Docent Programs, translate Indiana Academic Standards and child development principles into docent‑ready learning goals and object-based teaching curricula.
• Assist in the training and evaluation of volunteer docents, particularly for school programs, with emphasis on effective gallery teaching to achieve program objectives.
• Maintain and update docent teaching materials and digital files.
• Assist with tracking expenses and maintaining program documentation.
• Represent Newfields at off-site convenings, conferences, and school education programs.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and contribute to campus-wide projects.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Master's degree in Museum Education, Art History, Education, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of professional museum experience with a focus on PreK–12 engagement.
