The Hamrin field produces oil primarily from the Tertiary (Miocene) reservoirs — the Jeribe and Euphrates formations — with the Dhiban formation as a secondary reservoir.

Position Summary

The Field HSE Supervisor reports to the HSE Manager & Delegate. The position is filled by personnel working B2B. The position ensures company & contractor HSE personnel in the field carry out their duties as per HKN standards and expectations, coordinates and supervises HKN HSE projects and operations not directly connected to operations contractors such as Air Quality Monitoring, waste management, etc. The position also provides HSE support for civils construction. The Field HSE Supervisor is expected to play a considerable role in any major incident response and the following incident investigation. The Field HSE Supervisor is expected to play a significant role in developing and assessing the competence of field HKN HSE staff and other local HKN employees is safety specific matters.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise contractor and HKN site HSE personnel.

• Advise Field HSE personnel and check on quality of reporting.

• Encourage all HKN personnel in the field operating or visiting to fulfil HSE KPI's as designated to their position.

• Chair safety meetings for HKN and contractor personnel.

• Lead Emergency Response Exercises.

• Respond to major incidents in any required incident command role.

• Contribute to task risk assessments or other risk assessments as required or directed.

• Coordinate Contractor Environmental Operatives.

• Apply and exemplify HKN values and leadership behaviour.

• Work and behave in a safe manner.

• Strive to meet quality, cost and schedule expectations for all work undertaken.

• HKN HSE Plan targets are met for the position.

• All HKN Field Personnel meet their KPI's as per HKN HSE Plan.

• Provide assurance that the HSE aspects of HKN field operations are managed in line with requirements, including, but not limited to:

• Federal Iraq legislation;

• HKN Operational Safety Procedures (OSP);

• HKN Waste Management Plan;

• HKN HSE Management System;

• HKN Departmental Management Systems;

• HKN Emergency Response and Spill Contingency Plans;

• HKN Environmental Management System.

• Be responsible for generating the following documents and reports:

• Daily HSE report including summary of statistics

• Weekly HSE report including summary of statistics

• Contribute to the Monthly HSE report including summary of statistics

• Reporting all HSE incidents to HKN and recording all incidents in incident report log

• Report incidents, including near-misses, unsafe acts and conditions.

• Ensure that all emergency drills are carried out regularly and efficiently and generate drill reports.

• Conduct HSE inspections/audits of work sites, equipment and vehicles. Produce report on findings.

• Represent HKN in incident investigations at site.

• Supervise/observe non-routine operations.

• Provide safety coaching for contractor and HKN field personnel.

• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments and pre-job safety analyses.

• Conduct safety training, drills, and campaigns as required.

• Maintain a good knowledge of HKN, national and local HSE requirements.

• Carry out other task as may be assigned from time to time with agreement of the HSE Manager.

• Represent HKN Energy Ltd. on the site as HSE representative

• Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE policies and procedures

• Liaise and cooperate with HKN HSE Field Supervisors and contractor HSE representatives on site

• Liaise with H2S specialist to ensure H2S systems work efficiently

• Monitor rig-up/down service contractors equipment and report deficiencies

• Assist company doctor/medic in health and hygiene audits and follow-up on tracking deficiencies

• Encourage the use of safe working practices on and around the site.

Minimum Qualifications

• Competent with basic professional computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Fluent in English and Arabic with strong verbal, reading & writing skills.

• NEBOSH International General Certificate of equivalent essential.

• Diploma/Degree level in occupational HSE preferred.

• Emergency Response Certification including Spill Response preferred

• Environmental background/experience would be beneficial.

• Certification in Incident Investigation and Root Cause analysis preferred.

• Formal qualifications in Rigging, Lifting & Slinging preferred.

• HSE/Industry relevant work experience of typically 10-15 years.

• Proven HSE Field Supervisory role- minimum 3-5 years.
