Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of Parks and Facilities, the Arena Attendant is responsible for performing custodial functions; responding appropriately and in a timely manner to queries and problems; ensuring facility cleanliness and safety for all users; and providing exceptional customer service.
Primary Duties:
• Complete general cleaning of the facilities
• Moving nets on the ice surface while wearing the required safety equipment
• Removing snow by shovel on the ice surface and entrances of facility
• Assist with room set-up and take down for bookings
• May be required to complete skate patrol at public skating
• Provide exceptional customer service to members of the public
• Adhere to municipal policies and procedures
• Complete other duties as assigned
Education Requirements and Skills:
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Demonstrates initiative
• Ability to follow health and safety procedures
• Ability to skate would be considered an asset
Other:
• Part-time position – Approx. up to 20 hours per week
• Required to work evenings and weekends based on operational needs
