About the Role
• Provide licensed professional nursing services primarily for the Coumadin Clinic and floor nursing as needed.
• Support cardiovascular physicians, surgeons, nurse practitioners, and other medical personnel in delivering patient care.
• Provide Coumadin/Warfarin monitoring and management according to established clinical protocols.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Maintain medical equipment, supplies, treatment areas, and required records to support safe and effective patient care.

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and professional nursing care to cardiovascular patients.
• Ensure patients are appropriately assessed, monitored, and educated throughout their treatment.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to identify and address patient concerns.
• Follow established clinical protocols for Coumadin/Warfarin management.
• Recognize and communicate changes in patient condition, medication, symptoms, bleeding/clotting risks, or other clinical concerns.
• Provide clear education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatments, medications, procedures, and ongoing care.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation to support quality patient care, regulatory requirements, coding, and billing.
• Support multiple clinical areas and step into other departments or responsibilities when patient volume or operational needs require.
• Contribute to clinic quality, safety, equipment maintenance, and compliance processes.
• Help ensure the department successfully meets its patient-care philosophy, mission, and organizational goals.
What Makes You a Great Match
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is optional.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient-monitoring skills.
• Ability to accurately perform and document vital signs, EKGs, pulse oximetry, venipunctures, fingersticks, and other nursing procedures.
• Ability to educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Strong attention to detail, particularly with medications, clinical documentation, protocols, and safety checks.
• Ability to recognize patient concerns and communicate effectively with physicians and nurse practitioners.
• Comfortable working across multiple clinical functions, including ECP therapy, anticoagulation management, and floor nursing.
• Ability to work collaboratively while also managing responsibilities independently.
