Manager, Operations
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for directing and managing the activities of a group of employees engaged in the operation, maintenance and repair of hydroelectric facilities and associated equipment on the Androscoggin River, to ensure safe, efficient and reliable energy production in a manner consistent with operational and regulatory requirements across multiple facilities.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that company personnel, contractors and consultants are following company approved Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental policies and procedures, and that company property is protected;
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory licenses, permits, and codes of operation and conduct;
• Plan, coordinate and supervise the safe, efficient operation repair and maintenance of hydropower systems, equipment and machinery for stations on the Androscoggin River;
• Be available for calls during power system disruptions to aid in problem solving and supervise repairs;
• Supervise operations and maintenance staff. Encourage employee development and training;
• The operations manager will be responsible for compliance with ISO-NE operating requirements as they pertain to the hydroelectric station operation; This includes procedure development, documentation, training, auditing and periodic reporting to the agencies.
• Capable of managing their own accountabilities with limited direct manager interaction, while ensuring appropriate communications occurs both up and down the organization.

• Ability to withstand and function under stressful situations;
• Maintain a valid driver's license – frequent travel along Androscoggin river basin required.
Qualifications:
• Associates or Bachelors degree (preferred) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and five years of related work experience is preferred or Military equivalent and five years of related work experience;
• Prefer 5-10 years' experience in Hydro or other generation plant operation and maintenance with at least 2 years of supervisory experience;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word and Excel;
• Proficient in the use or experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems;
• Working knowledge of hydropower turbine/generator systems and related equipment, standards, codes and regulations;
• Experience with reading (and working from) drawings, blueprints, specifications, schematics
• Knowledge of related industry standards such as OSHA and NFPA and knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and Safety/Environmental rules and regulations;
