Essential Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the Prep Department.
• Lead, train, and support department employees while promoting a safe, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
• Oversee the operation of shop equipment, including saws, plasma tables, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions to ensure materials are prepared accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Monitor quality, productivity, and organization throughout the department.
• Ensure materials are properly staged, organized, and prepared for the next phase of fabrication.
• Troubleshoot production issues and communicate effectively with management and other departments.
• Perform basic computer operations related to daily workflow, production, and shop activities.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive attitude among department employees.
• Be willing to work up to 60 hours per week, as needed, to meet production demands.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a fabrication shop.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience operating saws, plasma tables, forklifts, and overhead cranes.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Proficient in reading a tape measure and performing basic math calculations.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and hot shop environment.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Positive attitude and a commitment to maintaining a productive work environment.
