About our group: The NPI Materials team enables Seagate’s New Product Introduction (NPI) programs by ensuring accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of materials for engineering builds and product launches. We work cross-functionally with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Commodity Management, and global factories to support product development from concept through production in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment. About the role - you will: As a Supply Chain / Materials Intern, you will support day-to-day NPI operations while gaining exposure to the full supply chain lifecycle. You will also contribute to process improvements using modern data and AI tools. Material Planning & Execution Support tracking of material readiness for NPI builds Monitor shortages, excess, and delivery status Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure on-time material availability Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze supply chain data (material status, supplier performance, build readiness) Develop reports and dashboards using Excel and BI tools Support data-driven decision making and improved visibility AI & Process Improvement (Key Focus Area) Your primary summer project will support an AI-enabled Config Plan analytics initiative. You will help document supply-chain business rules, develop a standardized Supply/Demand analysis for selected components, validate results against the current process, and present recommendations to NPI Materials stakeholders. Interest in learning how AI and automation can be applied to practical supply-chain challenges. Prior AI development experience is helpful but not required. Assist in analyzing workflows and identifying improvement opportunities Help develop or enhance tools (e.g., dashboards, analytics, automation flows) Collaborate with the team on innovative solutions to improve efficiency and decision-making Cross-functional Collaboration Partner with: Engineering teams Procurement / Commodity Management Planning and Factory teams Communicate material status, risks, and updates across stakeholders NPI Program Support Support material activities for new product builds Help track key milestones and highlight supply chain risks Gain exposure to product development and launch cycles About you: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and organizational skills Curiosity and interest in applying AI tools to real-world business problems Your experience includes: Able to organize and analyze data in Microsoft Excel using tools such as formulas, lookups, pivot tables, charts, or equivalent features Interest in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or operations Experience with data analysis, visualization, or automation tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, Python, etc.) Exposure to ERP systems (SAP or similar) Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business / Operations, Engineering, or related field, and returning for classes in Fall 2027. The estimated base wage range for this position is $22 - $27/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
